Abstract: | Providing good care at home to people with dementia is becoming an important issue as the elderly population increases. One main problem in providing such care is that it must be constantly provided without interruption, which puts a great burden on caregivers who are often family members. Therefore, we are developing network service for relieving the stress of people suffering from dementia as well as their family members. Our proposed service consists of three sub components. The first one is for providing reminiscence videos with dementia patients via Internet. The second one is for supporting them to communicate with remote talking partners by using video phones. These are intended to bring their peace of mind and to prevent their behavioral disturbance. The last one is for assisting their daily living by using automatic video reminder. In this paper, we introduce the service overview that we developed and show our current approach for realizing “co-creation of life support contents for patients” and “interface for navigating the eye direction and shifting the attention of patients” |
