| 抄録: | 1980年代以降エコツーリズムは新しい形態の観光として脚光を浴びている。エコツーリズムは自然環境や地域社会に大きな負荷を与えるマスツーリズムの欠点を解消した観光として期待されているが，一方で単なる名前だけのエコツーリズムが存在していることも事実である。そこで，本稿では観光の定義を明らかにした上で，エコツーリズムを観光の一形態として捉え，「自然環境への負荷を最小限にしながらそれを体験し，観光の目的地である地元に対して何らかの利益や貢献のある観光」と定義づけた。そして，エコツーリズムの特性として，(1)自然環境に与える影響を最小限にする努力，(2)観光地である地元での利益の創出，(3)自然環境を理解し，コミュニケーションする努力の3点を挙げた。 : Ecotourism is a new type of tourism activity that has become widespread since the late l980‘s. It is expected to mitigate the detrimental effects of mass tourism such as resource degradation of the destination area and exploitation of the local economy. However, a lack of a clear definition of ecotourism has created many eco-sell types of ecotourism. Thus, this paper intends to articulate the definition of ecotourism by relevant ecotourism literature review. The result of the study shows that there are a variety of definitions based on different situation of each ecotourism activity. The authors concluded that ecotourism can be defined as a type of tourism that contributes to the destination area economically and socially while trying to minimize the environmental impacts to the destination area. In addition, ecotourism is considered to have at least three factors, namely enhancement of conservation, promotion of tourism and contribution to regional society and economy. |
