Abstract: It is known that in {→, ∧}-fragment of the natural deduction system of intuitionistic propositional logic NJ balanced formulas have unique βη-normal proofs. A balanced formula is a formula such that 1. every propositional variable has at most one negative occurrence and 2. every propositional variable has at most one positive occurrence. It will be shown here that the above condition 1 is suf ficient for formulas to have unique βη-normal proofs. This can be obtained by a close examination of Mints' proof, whose details are given in the present report.
